For the people who don’t get it…
Say he has 88¢ and you have $2.85 (like always).
You have his amount, 88¢ ($2.85 - 88¢ = $1.97 left over), 2 quarters extra ($1.97 - 50¢ = $1.47), and enough left over to bring his total to $2.35 (88¢ + $1.47 = $2.35). Wowzers!
So what you did was $2.85 - 88¢ - 50¢ + 88¢ = $2.35, it’s not that hard once you get it.
If they have more than $2.35 in their hand, you take their money and run.

The scammer has x
The other one has y
Given y is less than x,
x = same amount as y + 2 quarters + difference between 2.35 and y
x = y + 0.50 + (2.35 - y)
x = y + 0.50 + 2.35 - y
x = 2.85
So the “y” doesn’t matter at all. Trick works with any amount of x, not necessarily 2.35.
For example, for $3, and 3 quarters, you have the same as the other person + 3 quarters and enough to bring his amount to (3-0.75)=$2.25.

LMAO the secret is the amount you have doesn’t matter,it only sounds like it does.When he says I have the exact same amount as you..he doesn’t actually mean that,because then eh adds plus 2 quarts…then he adds and enough to bring your total up to 2.35 because not eve the 2 quarters matter because of course he has it,HE ALREADY HAS IT LOL.That’s why it’s in the wording.
