I just recieved my copy of Control. Perhaps I'll review it later. However, let me just point out a couple of things...

-Danny Garcia is simply hilarious.
-The Christmas party stuff goes on forever and ever and ever.
-I actually threw a sock at Wayne when he revealed it. If you've bought it, you'll know what I mean.

you're not kidding about danny being funny. back in june we were at this bar late at night sitting around goofing off. me, dan, justin miller, and a hand full of others. we had been at the magic convention all day and had gone to the bar to sit and drink. so dan gets up and does this inpromtu version of sam the bellhop.

he stacked 4 cards on top and says" this is a story about a guy named sam, he worked at the 654 club" and he made the rest of it up as he went.

it was funny and raunchy, and in places just plain dirty...one of the funniest things i've ever seen.

box monster uses a gimmick similar to all rising deck tricks:

a few cards are stuck together and hollowed out, then there is a pulley mechanism with a sticky side that attaches to the card, when the deck is tilted just the right way, gravity will take over and the cards will be pushed up.

i personally don't like it because it isn't impromptu and the deck is not examinable afterwards...

i like more in you face magic that looks completely fair and real with not a lot of angle problems and such (like sinful by wayne houchin, or even factory sealed by nick verna)

i can reveal factory sealed to somebody in return for the revealing of control by wayne houchin

My god you could not be more wrong about Box Monster. The gimmick has nothing to do with hollowed out cards. In fact the gimmick can be used with any deck (borrowed or not) so that theory wouldn't even work. Sorry dude but you either are guessing, learned the wrong method from someone else, or like to make shit up.

Oh and Sinful doesn't really have great angles like you mentioned above and neither does Factory Sealed.

actually somebody else made a video of it for me, sorry.... i trusted the guy, we had been trading tricks for a while....

and sinful does have pretty good angles as long as your performance is good (as long as the spectators don't know where to look) because even if they get a flash of "it"...."it" blends in so they can't really tell...depending on what bottle you use

...and factory sealed has ok angles, but i like the trick so much that i put it up there

i no a woy of stopping your pulse, just stick your fist in your armpit, it will block the main artery in your arm and stopp your pulse

Yeah, that would work but they are waiting for the true method of control. Anyway, that's fine dude and you're right about sinful and the angles. I just forget about the blending in because I've accidentally flashed it before and gotten caught every time I flashed (not too many times though, just like 2).

yeah my parents caught it, but that's because they always watch my hands and are very hard to get passed

but yeah.... most laymen won't catch it (or maybe my spectators were just dumber than yours....lol)

also if you watch the instructional dvd again...there are tips that wayne and criss give to not show "it" that involve just the slightest tilt of the soda can

i have the dvd for box monster, and your right.. you can use a borrowed deck, but you need a little bit of setup for it
