hi, Here's how to make an m5 gimmick. here is what mine looks like178
what you need: A strong magnet (i got mine from a speaker), masking tape or duct tape or packing tape and a long sock
what you need to do is cut the stretchy part off the sock thats the only part you need from it. next put it on ur arm, take a long piece of tape put it on top of the magnet and put the magnet in the middle of th sock and wind the tape around the sock so it won't come off. the reason u need to have the sock on ur arm is because the tape won't stretch and if it doesn't fit you will have to do it again. now you need to take a razor blade and cut a circle out of the tape on top of the magnet so it is still strong but leave about a 1/2 of tape on the edges of the magnet. and ur done.
u can do a coin change with it without buying a $16 steel quarter. just find a canadian nickel and hide a penny or a dime behind it put both in the specs hand and wave ur arms over it 3 times and on the 3rd time let the coin come to the magnet and the change happens
the reason i said canadin nickel is because the are attracted to magnets
hope this helps
enjoy:)

American Coins don't work, unless one of those steel quarters from E.
As I said before, does anybody know where to get/find a strong magnet?

go to kjmagnetics.com most people dont like the M5, but most people dont take the time to practice with it, and you have to to act like its magic and make it look real. I preferably like the M5. I practice with it alot and imnpress alot of people, but only make or buy this if you are going to be serious with it.

i love it u can move obects vanish coind etc. even though mine isn't really strong enough to do some of the things like the magnetic version of the haunted deck. most people don't really give it a chance one they find out its a magnet they can buy for $30

Hi Guys,
I don't know very well the M5 system but I think is doing about a magnet.
Here there is a link from an University in which is explained how to magnetize a pin, a nail and you can also magnetize a coin made in iron.
When u have magnetize the coin u can do an M5 effect.

I hope this can be usefull.

well usually magnets can be found at any hardware store, sometimes groceries, or jsut go to a large department store (depending on where ure from).
and routines... there are plenty, u can be creative and make up ur own, or just do coin vanishes, or coin changes, but both of those require a magnetic coin/coin shell.
i combined this with the lethal tender, i think it works out pretty well.
only thing i dont like about the system, is u dont actually end up clean, it basically fals off if u turn ur arm.
but yet again, if ure the type of person who is very aware of their actions, this is pretty good.

Ok, thanks for your reply. i know where to get magnets from, its just that i have several old speakers and i thought they could eventually be usefull ;D and im from germany so i dont have to use shelled coins since most of our coins are attracted to magnets but thanks anyways, i guess ill start working on a routine ^^

an "m5 system" is a grade n45 nickle plated neodymium magnet . it measures 2in. x 2in. and is 1in. thick. The "system" comes with a wrist strap, this can easily be made from am old sock, or a piece of stretchy fabric, basically a pouch where the magnet is held, and a length that can be wrapped around your wrist or thigh or wherever you intend to place it.
You also get some thin magnetic foil, some wire, a match with a staple in it, a penny, and a book that really doesnt tell you anything. it isnt worth spending the money they ask for it. i bought one and think it can be a decent tool for creating magic, but it is not worth almost a hundred bucks.
i got one , if you are thinking of buying one, i will sell you mine. ill sell it cheap. send me a private message. peace

The real m5 is a wristband that has the magnet built into the band, which then hides beneath your sleeve. But it doesnt really matter as long as you have a sleeve.

Not exactly. The real M5 is the magnet (the above post isn't quite right on the dimensions (it's actually 2" x 2" x 1/2"). It comes with a stretchy holder which has a pouch on one end, and elasticated fabric on the other. That's it! It's up to you to put it in the pouch, sew it in if you want to (otherwise it tries to leap out whenever you come close to something heavy and metallic. You can then, if you wish, add velcro to this contraption. The original just comes with a safety pin. The strap is supposedly to be used for either the wrist or the leg... now I work out and have quite big thighs, but my wife can't get it round her leg either, and I suspect neither can anyone over the age of about twelve!
It's a useful tool, but I regret purchasing it, especially when the exact same magnet is available on ebay for £8 (approx $13). Had the wrist band been of good quality (or even put together for me!) and I hadn't had to spend ages trying to actually make the thing work for me, I might not mind so much... but you live and learn.
Also before anyone starts shouting, I said I regret BUYING it, not that I regret OWNING it. I just wish I had made my own, as I see the manufacturing of the original as being shockingly poor quality!

Yeah, M5 is just a classification of magnet strength. Naming the gimmick the M5 gave it away completely.
