All these questions on the boards that come from users that begin....."is_______ worth it?" * Worth what? Worth the money? Worth your time? Worth stealing? I don't know. Was it worth it to me? Will it be worth it to you? I don't know.

It's only worth it, if you use it. Hoarding thousands of tricks in your digital download library, but you only know 4 card tricks - probably not worth it.

Dude, the simplest, easiest, basic, beginner magic trick is always worth it, if you like it and you perform it well. I don't know if you will like it, practice it and perform it well. What I think is crap, you might love. [and visa versa]

You might worship Criss Angel, I think he's crap - you ask me if it's worth it, and I say, "no." Why listen to me - we obviously have different tastes and styles.

The best judge of your magic is you and your audience - nobody else. As soon as you realize that you have to be YOU - and create YOUR style and YOUR own patter, and develop your magic around YOU and NOT ellusionist or Criss Angel or David Blaine the faster you will become a better magician.

Look for tricks that interest you, not what everyone else is doing. If you just follow the hype and the crowd, you're no different/better than wanna-bes who buy the latest CD or wear the most fashionable clothes. You become a poser who dresses like a skater, but does not own a skateboard. You're a follower, you're a clone, you're a carbon copy.

Look for magic that blows magicians away. Look for magic and magicians that are unknown, or little known. Look for people who are cutting edge and under ground.

And it's not about "scaring people" or always getting the best reaction either. Some tricks will just fall flat on certain people no matter how great the trick is. Other simple Tenyo tricks will blow people out of the water. There is no "Magic" magic trick that blows everyone away, just like there is no "best" magician. It's all going to be trial and error until you find your own style and your own path.

I can't answer you "if it's worth it," or "what is the best card trick" or "what trick should I buy next..." dude, those questions are for you to answer young padewan.

This is your quest and your journey of self-discovery.

FFS he's not referring to any particular thread, he's referring to all the threads called things like "What should I buy for $60?" and "Is this shitty ellusionist trick worth it?".

I completely agree, it annoys me too, however I have nothing against the threads like "What is your favourite impromptu card trick?" as if we can't talk about things like that on a magic thread then what can we talk about lol

But yeh i agree
