im new to magic and need visiual tricks

All newcomers will learn is due time. As for right now you can get "visual" by learning color changes. I'm not going to write about all the visual stuff. Stick around this forum, spend some money at ellusionist or penguinmagic, download some pirated dvd's, watch the videos here. If you don't know any visual tricks then it's too early for you to perform. Alot of magic is visual- almost all magic that's not mentalism is capable of being seen. So just hang around and you'll see plenty. Cheers!

Too true. Learn the basics first - it's the only way anything is gonna happen. Then after that, start looking into some basic switches, card changes, etc. You can do anything you want with a double lift - its such a basic move and such a killer at the same time. It's absolutely everywhere. Get an incredible double-lift going and you'll be on your way

i'd suggest start working on slights and building up charisma for performance. the most part of magic is not the trick, it's the presentation. just coming up to someone and asking if they want to see something cool, doing your trick and leaving is not very impressive. you need to learn how to get your audience into a certain "believing" mood inorder for your trick to appear as magic.
another tip is to never ever say what you are doing at the moment (unless its a distraction or part of the trick). telling people "look, my hands are completely empty!" just makes them suspicious and reduces from the power of the moment. instead use subtleties and body language to give the misconception that your hands are empty. even just holding up your sharpie with a coin hidden in finger palm (sharpie=pen. finger palm=in between your knuckles, held and hidden by the fingertips) proves to your spectator that your palm is empty and that you are holding only the pen. you can say "im now going to use this pen" (pointing their attention to the pen and registering in their mind that the hand is empty)

the trick i am trying to prefect is bullet. that is the one main trick i know. the color change i do is shapeshifter (mostly).
