Silk Through Microphone Stand?

I would like to know how to do the silk through microphone stand penetration like the on ein the videa down below please let me know how it is done?

Anyone? Anyone? Here is what I think it is two silks. If you listen closely when he pulls the silk through I think I hear a velcro sound and in the corner of the silk I think I see a black dot. I think this could be a magnet. Any thoughts?

Well, then I guess it really does go through the mike stand and there is no trick to it lol

There are to possible ways.1. The mic stand is gimmicked 2. Or the silk goes around it.

I know I noticed that after viewing it a few times, but them common knowledge would tell you the silk would be dragged acroo the left side and I just don't see that. The silk still appears to go through??? Anyone?

ok first of all no need to keep triple and double posting. and secondly i think i know it. he has 2 hankies. one is behind the mic stand the other is in front of it and the one in front is basically made to vanish. wich is why it appears as tho he lets go of it briefly. i suspect it is on a pull and goes up his sleeve. he then obviously still has hold of the hanky that was behind the mic stand the entire time so it looks like it penetrated it.

and i think i have seen somthin similar to that before.
2 differnet ways to do it (urs and mine) both get the job done so its all good, just depends on peopls performing style i guess lol
i wouldnt like to say how easy the gimmick is to make tho thats the only problem

anyway thats sounds about right, maybe the sound, he said he heard watching the vid was the hankie being pulled up his sleave

Someone tod me that the silk is not gimmicked. He said it is mis direction and to notice his right hand how he releases the silk. I still don't know how it is possible based on what this guy told me. Anyone have a plausible theory? After pulling the silk through he doesn't really give you a chance to look at it and is it a hurry to fold it up and put it away hmmmmm

New to this forum. Well, besides saying hello, I want to say that I know of one method of doing this. You can use a invisible thread reel with the thread attached to one end of the silk. Ammar explaines it in one of his easy to master thread miracles videos.

Okay some people keep saying something about a thread or string to pull it after he releases the silk with his right hand but then it would get tangled up in the mike stand. Will someone please explain this to me?

well if bubba says it involves a thread reel then i would guess its done like this -

the thread is attached to teh silk, the thread goes round the fingers of his right hand across the back of the mic stand round it then back to his right hand where he holds the silk. that way when he lets go the thread would pull the silk around the mic stand and back to his hand, but it would have to b a top quality thread reel to b able to do that fast enough, the amount of tension u'd need to do that fast enough u'd have to use kevlar thread for sure

I suck at explaining things as well as you, and when I try, someone will always ask for a video tut.

I'll watch the video again...and yes a heavy duty reel IS necesary
(these are NOT the same as an I.T.R. used for floating a bill like a Thread Boss).

I think in the video they use Kennedy's which is like a bill snacher..uses thin fishing line.

The Penetrative Silk, Volume 4 of Tarbell or Volume 2 of Rice's Silk Encyclopedia, will show you one method of performing it. Volume 2 of Rice would give you a more likely method using a reel. If you have a bill snatcher, you can work out the moves until you get something more classy and silent.
