Hey!

I've came up with something new.
Effect:
The spectator chooses a card. That card is signed across THE FACE. Then the magician rubs one of the pips and it vanishes.

His hands are completely empty and the card can be examined!

--------------------------

What do you guys think about it?

Thanks!

It's almost the same as Espens Sandens (Opeth) 'What the Pip?'

Mine can't be signed.. The pips are obviously not there at atart off with. I think you just have cut off the pips and just temperaly glued them on the card where the pips were..

It's not a Gelly Roll pen ^^
I use only 1 card. I don't cut the pip off from any other card if so, I couldn't hand it to the spectator to sign ;P
I think that none has used this method before... It took me some time to master it :P

Thanks for the comments!
I'll try to make a video today in the evening cuz I'm not at home right now.

I'm sorry cuz I couldn't post the video when I said...
Here's a video from the trick (It was recorded with my cellphone, that's why the quality is so bad :/):

I'll try to record a better video later.
Please comment on this one!

In the vid it looks like you rubbed it off before with a rubber or sth. like that and then painted back on...or you rub some tipp ex on the pip that you have on your finger... it looks after the pip has vanished very strange, just as if the picture layer of the card is destroyed or rubbed off ( or sth. not reflexing put over it )... if the card would be the same white/shining on the spot the pip disappeared, as ist is everywhere else, it would look better...

but nice idea anyway ;)

I erased the pip with a rubber... That's the only way I know to erase cards... But that could be done with a gaffed card and no marks there...
As I said before, you're clean after you make the pip vanish... :)

Yeah, Itīs nevertheless a nice approach to a new trick ;) Did you use one of those hard, blue rubbers ? it guess they work fine for that ...
have you already tried to put sth reflexive on it ( donīt know what...maybe hairspray, airbrushed thin paint )... that brings the "shine" back ? that would make it a great, easy trick to leave the spec the card as souvenir after vanishing the pip.

as I said before: nice trick anyways ( to fool certain audience ) :)

I haven't painted it back... I use a small gimmick that can be home-made. It can be used for many other tricks...For example, you can paint the back of a card with a marker and, after you rub your finger on it, the ink vanishes, leaving, on it's place, the reveal of the selected card :)

I haven't tried to bring the shine back... But I'll try that!
I used a white eraser on that.

I dunno if I'll make a tutorial... I might try selling it to some magic shop...

And this just reminds me why I hate making my own blank facers by erasing them... it's just too obvious that they were erased due to the damage on the card. :)

As I said before, you must make them shiny again, that they look unharmed, or no shop will buy that trick :)
THEN it would be a novelty...

by the way: i came up with an Idea last night... when I was building some tattoo sleeves :)

what about a piece of semi-transparent paperwith a pip printed on it... you could put that on the prepared (erased ) card, it would look like a normal card if cut to the right size... then you could, when you turn the card around, palm it off, crumble it up and keep it fingerpalmed to show it has vanished...

Would be easy to make and could look good ( I think, Iīll give it a try )

thats not bad...

i've been working on something like this for a while, but mines better ;) lol
in mine you tear a corner off a card with a pip on, have them sign it and examine it, then shake the piece and the pip slowly slides and falls right off the the card into the spec's hand. They can examine both pip and blank corner (still with their signature on) before they hand them back to you and you, keeping the corner in view the entire time, toss the pip up slightly and it visually snaps back on to the corner of card which can, with no switches, immediately be handed out for examination and still has their signature on. :)

As I said before... You can do other tricks with that method... You can make almost any ink vanish :P

Yea, that would be great... but it's not my method yet ^^
My gimmick is fully home-made with 2 materials only :)

Actually they are 2 different tricks. :)
With your method, can you do what I said before? Paint a small circle with a permanent marker and, after rub it with your finger, it vanishes.. Leaving on it place the reveal of their selected card.
Ah... Do you they sign in the front or in the back?

Thanks for the answers!
