Besides name transfers, are there any really good heavy hitting tricks that can b done with a double blank (both sides blank) card / deck. I'm stumped..

Jay Sankey's Fade Away. A deck wrapped in a handkerchief is imagined by the spectator to slowly fade away except for the previously selected card. The deck is unwrapped to show that it did just that.

is it a thought of card or a previously selected card from another deck?

It's forced from the same deck. The card starts out face up on the bottom of the deck in dealer's grip. Cover the deck with the handkerchief then get the spec to cut the deck thru the cloth. Flip the remaining stack so that it looks like that the spec cut to the card and show it to him/her.
To show the card, just raise the stack at eye level and side jog the force card out. Your hand should cover most of the blank face of the pack you're holding. Given a typical Bicycle deck, the pips are on the upper left and lower right, so if your hand and fingers cover that oblique, you're pretty clear.
Once that's done, just return the packet under the cloth. Wrap up the deck, hand it to the spec and all you have to do is patter away. Talk about slowly imagining the colors fading out... blah blah.
