flash paper does not burn you...it has special chemically making it so it ONLY burns the paper and nothing around it

the only time it could really hurt is if you lit it with a lighter and you jsut leave your ahnd right over it then it may burn a bit

Whenever you light it the paper is only there for a second because it burns fast.

flash paper is really amazing stuff, there are hundreds of things you can do with it. But a simple coin production or deck production is good enough.. check out david stone volume 2 for a kickass flashpaper to card box production. Flash paper is pretty cheap. I get mine for about 9.50 for a pack of 5. Some great stuff to do is the alpha card, the pilot pen thingy which goes away with heat... coin productions, or simply lighting it up and throwing it in the air seems to amaze people just as well. I use it a lot, and if you want to know, you can keep it flat on your palm and light it and it doesnt hurt, but i recommend you crumple it up first so that its wrinkly, this makes it burn a hell of a lot faster. a pretty nice thing to do is to put a bit of flash paper next to the wick in a zippo so when you light it you get a big flash then the wick lights up, its really facinating for those who havent seen it before.. and since its gone they can play around with it as long as they want..

It really depends on which brand you're using.. Some stores may sell a flash paper which burns INSTANTLY and some may be very slow burning. Whatever you buy, test it.. if you can feel the heat, just let go with it when it burns..

Flash paper doesn't hurt at all, unless you wrap your hand with it and burn it :D

how do you make a deck of cards or a coin appear? to you wrap the coin in the flash paper with out them seeing?

actually there are many methods, the one that i like is where you have your hand in a gun kind of shape with you index finger pointing outward, the coin clipped between your index and middle finger, hidden. the flash paper is balled up, and held with your thumb and the tip of ur index finger, you touch it to a candle then let the paper burn and flip the coin upward to show it.

to make a deck of cards appear is significantly more difficult. david stone suggests that you keep the deck in your sleeve half of it coming out into your right hand. your right hand should be kept down, and you have a large-ish piece of flash paper in your other hand, and you burn it and let it burn in that area. while that happens, you bring up the deck of cards, which was previously sleeved, and flip it forward, when this happens your left hand should already be down so it looks like the deck emerged from the fire. I suggest looking at david stone vol. 2, its the entrance to 'snowball' i believe.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone here, but to say that flash paper will not burn you or is not dangerous is wrong. It's fire. It will burn if your not careful, I was burned earlier today when I used it for a coin trick. I'm not saying don't buy it, 'cause I love the stuff. It's just that there's a reason they ship the stuff wet.

There always are people like this who ask not just about fire but with cards and other stuff too. For example i was springing cards at party where i was performing and one woman told me that the cards are magnetic :D And that is just one example. it happens a lot :D
