I'm guessing it's similar to eXile.. At least the vanish thingy. WHich isnt any good.. But the appearing thing with no cover from the other hand looks impressive. Especially the transpo.. Where live turns into evil..

I just hope the method isnt disappointing..

With regards to papercrane not being out to help the magic community, I'd like to point out that making a business of something and helping out are not mutually exclusive. You can help while profiting from the help. Or were you expecting all honest-to-goodness help to be free?

I just watched the video twice and i think i got the method (if its really impromptu) x) : watch closely his nail... ;)

I tried and it work just like in the video : totally impromptu but specs cant see your fingers after the effect

He's just got the other drawing on the lower part of his finger (which is covered) then he draws the new one on the upper part and shakes his hand and changes which one is covered...

And if that's not how you do it; it looks just like that, and that looks pretty bad...

If you say it's impromptu, that's great.. :) I like that. Video is unbelievable.. I really like the effect but i'm pretty sure they won't be able to examine fingers at the end (i have idea of how to do that, but i won't say that for public :) )

well with this truly bein gimmickless i can only assume its all about how ur fingers are placed. i would say that fater/chubbier people are gonna find this easier lol

my guess would b that ur skin on ur finger is stretched slightly and ur index or ring finger hold it in its stretched posoition then when u shake ur grip is released and the skin goes back to normal only now the image is slightly rotated around ur finger and ur other fingers can then cover it up

just my ideas but seems logical if it is indeed gimmickless

another way would b to have some kind of tattoo joe like gimmick on ur finger that u can just rotate

either way the effect its self really doesnt appeal that much to me,, doesnt look that impressive

That's exactly what I thought.
Like I kinda noticed that most of the stuff written was either closer to the bottom or closer to the top of the finger, it was like never in the middle.
The other things that make me suspicious is the fact that he never opens his fingers up or shows the hand completely.
I am not saying I can do it right now, maybe there is some sort of skill needed to twist your finger around.
So it may be somewhat impromptu, but you might have to write on your finger before the trick unless you want to do the drawing in front of the spectators.

This is kinda my theory, but for some reason I don't think it's the actual method, surely it couldn't be this simple.

There are some shots where the hand is almost straight on and not tilted, but those also seem to be the vanishes too....

Whatever the method, it certainly looks good to a layman. I just don't like doodling on my hands though, too bad :D

I will say it's not just twisting firger, but a combination of that and twisting the whole hand. If you take a close look at the trailer, you will see that his hand is in an weired angle before tha changing. In that angle, you don't 100% cover the prepared drawing, but people just won't be able to see it. (they are seeing the side of middle finge.) And after the change.......,twist your finger and hande back, and cover the "new" drawing with your first finger since the "new"drawing is actually on the side of middle finge........since they never open ther fingers before and after the trick as someone said before.
If this actually how it is done, and you have a skinny finger, than..... too bad for you :)
Why it is called XFinger? because you cross your finger!
