A friend of mine saw the trick Karate Coin at a yard sale and bought it for me, so I practiced it and got it down solid, but everyone knows how its done. It's a nice effect, all my spec.s are like "Oh I know that I do this with a sugar packet." do any buddy else have this problem and know how to deal with it? Maybe a better way to perform it so you can show your hands clean right before you toss the coin? I can't think of anything, thats why I am asking you guys.

unfortunatly there will always be people like that the best thing to do is keep workin on it till u cant even see the movements. that way instead of people sayin i know how u did that i do it too, u will have people sayin i know what ur doin but i cant see when/where u do it.
i perform the classic infusion trick all the time when i go to the pub, and every single time i really looks like the coin goes thru the bottom of the glass. and i have people either not knowin how i do it or the smarter ones will say i know how u do it i just cant see u do it. and altho its not the best reaction u want, it is still given the audience a great show cause they are still amazed. failing that, just dont perform it for a while then only bring it out on special occasions, those other people are not gonna b doin it with sugar packets for ever and will eventually forget how to do it and u'll b able to bring it out and amaze everyone again

well....what kind of karate coin do you have....?
is it just a coin with a hole....or is it one that has all the jagged edges sticking out?
either way you can use this idea....you just have to play with the handling.
i use a coin that just has a plain hole.....so its not like i stabbed my finger thru the coin.....it's more like a clean penatration.
i use a coin shell....so there is no extra coin to hide at the beginning.
i start with the shell on the coin, and with my thumb covering the hole on the back...so i can flash both sides of the coin.
then i hold the coin in spellbound position and let the coin fall out of the shell...and take the shell in the other hand.....slip my finger in the hole and do the standard karate coin toss....
then with the coin displayed on my finger.....i come up in front with the shell fingerpalmed in the other hand and pull the coin off my finger, right back into the shell.....and show both sides again.
clean....

Mine is the one with the jagged edges. Oh well. Truams advice was good too, to have people say that they know how its done but not see the move. Maybe I could still put a shell on the front of it but no show the back. Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of the real coin without sticking my hands in my pockets or something?

Use something like the raven or make something like that.Or use sleeving it is basic snap with the coin in between your fingers but you must have long sleeves.
