When done horizontally, how far have you guys been able to shoot the cards. I've been doing it for a little over a week and I've gotten a little over ten yards. But Jeff Mcbride gets them to go a lot farther. Is he using a different method or is he just amazing at it?

as far as i know jeff does use a slightly modified grip, but u have to accoutn for gravity, so aim them slightly up as u fire them out and it should arc slightly givin u more distance, 10 yards isnt bad, thats what about 3-3.5 metres.
i can normally get em about 6-8 metres (but thats the length of my room lol)

Yeah. I've only done it in my living room, which is like 36 ft long. I stand at one side and just hit them off the wall opposite me. So I probably can get a little over 10 yards, but not much more. And I'll try aiming them up, but I noticed that when Jeff McBride does it, he angles them at the floor and they bounce up and get amazing distance. I don't know if he can just put a ton of power behind it or if it's his modified grip. By the way, I use a slightly modified grip too, instead of using all four fingers I just use my first three. I found I could get more distance that way. Try it and let me know about your results.

Get Jeff McBride's "Zoom Bounce and Fly" if you're interested. Personally I haven't done much card throwing but I have the DVD and it seems to be very good tuition.

The main thing he says is to wear something on your thumb. He manufactures something called "the McBride tip" (or something like that) but apparently one of those tips that people use for counting money works as well. It's basically just for added grip.

I know that a thumbtip can get you more distance, but I wanna be able to get the distance without it.

Card spinning isn't about shooting a card out of the deck.. It's about the technique you use to shoot the card.

Remember Everything starts with a technique...

Btw I can get however long the average gym at a school is..

First of all, I'm talking about horizontally. Second of all, I found what I was doing wrong. When I was swinging my arm to give the card more distance, I was swinging it backhanded. I tried swinging it forehanded and got more than 2 times the distance I was getting.
