Any Ideas on Making a Deck Apear?!?!?!?

when i often perform card tricks i just pull the deck unspectacularily out of my pant pockets. i was wondering of some ways to make the cards apparently appear from no where.

p.s i often perform with a blazer on.

I always thought the device that was made in "taxi driver" was cool.....could sling the deck from your sleeve into your hand in a cool way {but people would probally think your using that device to perform tricks}.


I've seen some pretty cool deck holders that attach to your belt that has always looked cool also.


making the cards appear from no where though hmmm.....if you feel like getting into some elbow grease then you could take a table and cut a slot out the size of the deck....make a box under the slot.....cut the piece you cut out of the table into two pieces and set this aside.

ok get 2 magnets...attach these to the middle ends of two piece of wood {o the long side} you now have so they can touch each other and stay together.

now attach a hendge on each piece of wood opposite of where you put the magnets. now attach the two pieces of wood back on the table where you cut them off so they cover the slot {you want them to swing into the box}.

now you only want the box only big enough for the two piece you cut {now a door} to be make a V shape when they are opened into the box.


now set your deck of cards inside, the deck should rest inside the V shape like this \-/

now put a magnet inside the deck of cards on the side thats faceing out of the box.

Put a cloth over the table. {not one that covers the whole table}.

use a magnet in your hand to bring thr deck out of the box {the doors should stay shut from the magnets that was placed on them earlier}......this will make a deck rasieing thru the table effect......reach under the cloth and pull out the deck.

you may need to add spring hendges on the inside back of the doors to make them pop up better and not stay open while the deck comes up......but you do not want strong spring hendges because you want the deck's weight to be able to keep the doors pushed open.


maybe this helps in someway.

If you go to radio shack...or somewhere like that you can even get this device that will play music just as the doors shut....check a few electronic places for this {it's under 30 bucks and the device is small...they usually go in stuff animals}.



You could use this same concept and make a small portable deck thru table version as well......maybe even a deck thru book effect if you get a book thick enough.

basically the trick is to show 2 half decks hinged together and when the deck is put back to normal ur able to take out a full pack of cards, full size ready to work with, does in volve a gimmicked card box but that can easily be got rid of once the cards are out

well im pretty good at putting things into and out of their pockets...y dont u make a misdirection, pull out the cards {while palming}...then if they're wearing a big coat just toss it into their coat pocket..

yeah i just had a good i dea involving tht kinda stuff. u get a volounteer and give em the 'once over' and start getting the to twirl around and u start patting them and stuff as though getting some sort of mesurments. and just slip it into one of there looser pockets.

and then later ask them if they have a deck of cards handy!!!!
