Okay guys, a HUGE, HUGE problem. I retract the thread and its fine. when i wanna use it next, i pull some out and it tugs. my worst fear is confirmed.

i open the housing and just glimpse at the spool, and feel like i must keel over.

THE SPOOL IS IN A MESS. A tangle, unrepairable apart from breaking it after the tangle. I hate this, i really, really hate it, because buying new spools is expensive.

any EXPERT advice on how to prevent this? thanks.

i think thats just the thing with the tarantula, the spool is just so small, so the thread just tends to tangle a lot. also, i think for the ring routine, the thread spins so much, it is much much easier to tangle. im no expert, but all id do is cut off the thread and just place new ones in.

when you do the ring spin you are twisting the thread.....so after the effect the thread will tangle if it gets any slack in it.....

after you float the ring...reel the thread back out and let it untwist....or break the thread at the end of the routine.

wow what a coincidink(coincidence)
this happened to me FIVE times today and i fixed it
its fun to fix in a way
FIRST: go to the magic store and get UNseperated invisible thread
its an thread thats pretty thick but with a bunch of strands of IT in it
(read instruction booklet)

SECOND: take your spool take it out from the tarantula and take a compass(thing to draw circles)
and stick the pointy part through the tread to break it into little peaces and empty it out(the spool) its very hard to empty it out completely
so empty it out as much as you can with tweezers

THIRD: you see on top of the spool there is a little CUP(sorta)
with wax in it (PS::buy magicians wax too) empty it out so there is no more wax in it

so now you have an empty spool

FOURTH: get ur IT, pick at it and get a single strand and attach a LITTLE peace of wax to it
put it in the "BOWL" of the spool
and make some thread when its all done you will attach a peace of wax to the end of the thread
so you have now: empty spool>attached to the WAX in the "BOWL">Invisible Thread>wax
now wind a little bit of the thread around the spool and put it in the Tarantula

FIFTH: notice that "spider thread" is straight (pardon my grammar)
but this thread is a bit Zig-Zag-y
so attach a card to the end of the wax and do MAGNETIC MONEY with the card (in the DVD) this will make the tread straight and wind around the spool easily and TIGHTLY (important)
*CLICK* *DZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ*
DONE !!!

:D

ill do some pictures if you like

Ah i see, thanks. But it happens sometimes when im not doing the ring spin. Sometimes when im gonna use it, i pull some thread out and it tugs again, meaning its all bugged up inside again, and sure enough when i take a look it's all in knots and crap..

like i said:
take a compass and pick at the string to break it and empty it
and use my technique
*CLICK DZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ* UR DONE
NOW no more KNOTS:D
AND
its fun to fix(my opinion)
AND
its CHEEP
AND
you dont have to worry about another tangle
if you baght othere spools:DONT THROW em away
RELOAD them with tread
now if one is a tangle
pop the other spool in
:D

as for tangles, the methods issued were helpful, thanks a lot ppl.

and i was just experimenting with the tarantula and i was bored, so i was trying to create some new effects.

i came up with something like makign the bill move back and forth between ure hands by having the thread loop around 1 finger on the hand without the T. start by having bill in the hand with the T and reel in the IT so the bill moves to the other hand, and reel again after u remove ur finger from the loop.

and i was attempting an extractor sort of thing with it (wasnt too successful but ill post it up anyways for some tips/feedback)
just attach wax to the chosen card, but place it in the deck (w/ the box) urself, so the spec wont notice the wax. and then place it into ur back pocket and while doing so reel the thread in and palm the card (the palm is really tough for i cant get the positioning perfect with only 1 hand.) then make it appear in another pocket or something x3

i was looking at the MLS and i was interested in making things arrive at my mouth, so i attempted to do so with the T
all i did was try to find the center of my head and have the thread hand from there, it was easy for me because i wore glasses and i just looped the thread around my glasses once. and i attacted it to a cracker and reeled it in, but since it wont fly directly into ur mouth, ull need to tip ur head up as the object flies toward ur head and once its near, shoot ur head out to catch it (it also makes the performance look a little nicer when u move ur head with it as it comes up.) try ur best not to eat it cuz wax tastes horrible.

anyone have more ideas? :P cuz i noticed this gimmick isnt limited to what it can do, and im positive there r so much more u can do with it. like it can be used for secret moves and all that sort of stuff. please post em up!

Okay ive got a new spool now. Im determined NOT to get it all in a bunched up tangle inside the spool when im about 10ft in.

Can someone give me some more VALUABLE, USEFUL and CONCLUSIVE advice as to how NOT to get it all tangled inside the spool?

I just need a great tip so i dont have to buy another spool again.

It would be muuuch appreciated, thanks.

make sure the wax is stuck to the string, if the string cose off easily, its gonna get off the wax when u retract the thread and tangle. also, after i perform hovering, i let the wax hang out there so that it can unwind itself.

thats pretty much it.

Ohh, so you've gotta let it unwind after you do the hovering?? I did NOT know that.

And also how can u let the wax hang there to unwind without it being seen by the other person?
