When you purchase Spun, does it come with everything you need (not including the quarter)? Such as the gimmick on how to bend the coin? Other reviews say you need to have the boa coin bender, or else it will be very very very very hard.

it does not come with a coin bender....and you don't need one.

it does come with thread and wax.

but you can use a couple pairs of pliers to bend the coin...the dvd explains it all.
of course having a BOA makes things easier and you can bend a coin whenever you need one instead of doing it at home with pliers...

also, the bend is not in the middle, it's on one edge of the coin....you can't put the bend in the middle... so something like a superman bender won't work for the effect.

just take your coin, put it in a sock, then put it in a vice, then take some pliers and bend it down, the sock keeps the teeth marks off of the coin when you bend it. i have a useless quarter taunting me from my bedside table because i didnt use a sock for cushion.

Can you use Spun with pennies? Is it too small to float or bend? Is it too obvious? I don't want to waste quarters much.

pennies are to small...anything smaller than a quarter isn't going to happen.

you don't have to give the coin away....at least not in the beginning.

in the beginning i don't recomend doing the bend at all....just take a quarter out of your pocket, make it float, and let the audience examine it and put it back in your pocket....

don't start doing the bending part until you get the floatation down.

once you feel confortable performing the floatation, then add the borrowing and signning of the coin, the bend, and the give away.

Well you could ask to borrow a coin and then switch out the coins and have them keep their (the dupe), coin. And you just eaarned a quarter. I suggest not doing this though.:D :D :D
