View Full Version : my comedy stage magic show (video)

hey guys, this is a comedy magic show i did the other day for my friends church. its definitely not some of my best performances, but it was just a sort of fun kind of not formal performance which is why it was kind of all over the place. i have split the video into the 3 routines so they would fit on youtube but i would like to hear any comments you guys have. enjoy:)

the videos are in order of how i did them in the show.

they may be a little hard to hear because i hate stand up microphones so i just said screw it and didnt bother using it half the time. the room there could hear me, but it may be a bit quiet on the computer.but, try to watch them, and i would love to hear any comments.

hahaha! lovely routine

the rope was a good choice for comedy

im not so sure bout the card trick, but i guess u added ur own touches that made it somewhat suitable for stage

nice job man.

thanks:D yeah, the first card trick was kind of small, but it was kind of presented in more of a comic way than a true miracle, like with the whole snuggie thing. did you watch the last card trick? thats actually my favorite of these. its a card catch.

i didnt look close enough, but did u use the actually "catch" method with the hold out? or did u do a palm?

EDIT: i remember watching a show once, i forgot who it was, but he did the same rope routine, but ended it by revealling it as marshmallow ropes. i thouht that was totally clever as for comedy

and whats the name of the rope trick?

lol nice job maan. video #2 was a mac king trick lol. as soon as I heard you say its the invisible robe thing I realized Mac King did that. #3 was the best though. Great Job:)

nope, i just crimped it and palmed it. theres really no difference lol. i would rather stay as simple as i can.

the rope routine i did is actually like bits and pieces from a bunch of different ones ive seen, but most of it was similar to michael finneys routine from worlds greatest magic , but i dont remember anything with marshmallow ropes though, that would be a great idea for comedy though.

thanks:D yeah, i kind of stole the idea of the invisible cloak thing. haha, i couldnt help it, its just too funny everytime i see him do that. the trick was completely different though. i just took the idea of the invisible cloak and added the comedy of the snuggie and changed the trick, so it turned out different than his. yeah, #3 is my favorite too.lol and i think the crowds fav also. ive actually done that routine in like 4 different shows now and every time, it pays off. simple and funny.

I have to say very impressed with your rope magic, do you recomend anywhere to go to learn great rope tricks or your particler routine where you just made it into one rope?

I watched it 2 times all the routines... Man... You're funny as hell and the tricks were great! Just a great performance!!! Keep it up dude ;]!!

thats what that other post was about that I believe blind dodo started. if you takes someones trick, give it your own little twist. lol you did, and it was hilarious.

thanks man:D well, most of the moves in the routine can be learned just about in any good rope dvd, i would reccomend some of the daryl videos for the simpler moves but the cirlular move with the ends and stuff is from fiber optics by richard sanders.

thanks! yeah, i have been doing comedy for just about a month now. it all started with that samurai routine i came up with and i found that people really loved it so i started writing more stuff. i really enjoy doing the comedy and magic together now.

yeah! exactly. i didnt want to use the same patter or routine, so i made it my own. i also added in the description of some of the videos the credits as to not make anyone mad of me using ideas of other magicians.
