I'm sure you're aware of the controversy surrounding these two products, but if not, please read this battle on the café:

If you take the time to read the topic through to the end, you'll find that the general consensus is an anti-Mesika one. I know a few of you have already purchased the Tarantula, and I have been considering it, but this thread has swayed me and now I will purchase only Steve Fearson's MLS.
I am personally opposed to a lot of his advertising techniques, but I respect the man as a magician and love some of his effects.

by the looks of it i think they chose the MLS over the tarantula based on what can be done with the MLS, and the high quality of the dvd...
i mean ive already bought the tarantula, but currently i love all the animations that its capable of accomplishing, but still tangling of the reel is pissing me off.
Steve fearson comes up with good stuff, this system's dvd will most likely be in some way a lecture of how to handle thread and wax... 2 hours i believe.
ive read some reviews about the MLS, but no one ever mentioned the comfort or the ease of handling with this system, they only mentioned what was possible. im just currently interested in knowing if u were to compare the tarantula's handling with the MLS's handling, which one would u chose?
btw, one of the main reasons as to y i bought the tarantula is because it keeps me away from the mess and hassle of handling the thread, because IMO cleaning up an act with invisible thread nearly pisses me off all the time, it gets lost, tangled, stuck, etc etc...

Fearson apparently has some excellent advice for that on his DVD.
And they sided with Fearson because it was established that Mesika was the liar.
People are comparing the 2 too much IMO. They are completely different; you could use them both at once. The tarntula still needs a hoohup, namely Fearson's.
However I feel that the Tarantula is a slightly needless gimmick, so my money is going to the MLS. Alongside the fact that I am opposed to Mesika's morals. But I suppose i'm not too keen on Fearson's either....
