Just get in the following position, Then pull it all the way around the SIDE of the deck, The band shud then end up where my thumb is placed, Then when u turn it face down on the table, It shud be enough weight to hold it in place, any slight movement jumps the band back around. Making the trick.

so i have to control the card to the top, then just wrap the rubber band around except the selection card?

Yeah its on top, Then u get a pinky break and wrap the band around the whole deck except the card on top

Have a card selected then controlled to the top of the deck. Turn the deck face up and get a break above the selected card. Put the band around the deck and in the break.
