Nice Espion, what was that colour change sold as? It was on D&D a couple times, was it actually sold by D&D?

And, you have some spelling mistakes in the thread title, you spelt 'change' as 'cange' and 'video' as 'vidoe'. Deliberate? Or can I change it?

So, Espion, what were you doing wrong that "seriously bent the hell out" of you cards before?

yes this is the real way to do pixel

and u wrap it around the deck in front of the audience...no one questions it to them u are just wrappin the deck in a rubber band

there is a descrepancy at the end when u have the band wrapped twice around the deck, then when the card melts thru the deck is only wrapped once

no one even notices that but it is noticeable to an eagle eyed spectator, u really have to make sure u line the bands up so it looks like there is only one band goin over that top card

i personally dont think its a great trick at all tho...its a nice concept and to be honest it looks impressive on the preview

later edit: well , it worked . i just had to refresh the page couple of times . thanks espen...good quality , good explanation 10 / 10 for you

For any lay people, it doesnt matter if the rubber band isnt lined up perfectly..

And you're welcome, vlad!:)

true. most of the time spectators dont even notice the difference, but the reason u should do it is cause of the discrepancy at the end...u need that double band to at least look like a single band so that at the end when they see just the single band it all looks the same wich is how its ment to be

the effect is that u make a playin card jump to the top and melt thru a rubber band that is around the deck

but if u do the trick without aligning the bands it also becomes the trick where the rubber band magicially goes from bein wrapped around the deck twice to now only bein wrapped around once

to most people this isnt noticed, but to a some it will be a dead giveaway as to how the trick is done

Of course.. so be on the safe side you should line it up:)

This is when it becomes "just another rubber band folding whatever trick"

When you're warping the rubberband around the deck, make sure it slides down your index finger.. this way, the rubberband will stay alined. And if it isnt, just readjust it afterwards..

Did you create these two tricks?

Lol no he don't ^^

Anyway, here's a little thing : when you pull the rubber band (before you wrap it around the deck), you do this with your index finger.
If you switch for your second finger and wrap the rubber band with it, your index will stay free and will be able to help when you table the deck (by holding it sideway).

Otherwise, it looks very suspicious when you place the deck in position for the reveal.

how do you wrap it around the deck without they see it?

You don't, it's supposed to look like a natural action.
Hard to explain.
It's nothing too tricky, just don't make a big deal about it, make it look casual, don't go "I'm wrapping the deck with a rubber band, slowly and casually, I haven't wrapped it around twice, only once, I swear".

If they don't really see you wrap it around the first time, then the second will look normal.

this is neat.

But have you guys ever heard of the flip/toss move by jay sankey and richard sanders?

The selection is fairly put in the deck. You rubber band the pack fairly. You toss the pack a few times into your hand. Then the selection visually rises to the top face up having melted through to the top.

I think its much more visual than this move. Its about 1/2 way into the video.

Yeah but it's in your hands and has a secondary action of being tossed. Pixel has all the focus on an isolated deck, which I feel is better theatrically.

Hey guys, just thought I'd bump this.
The colour change Espion did has been released at D&D as an On Demand.
It's called: Cartier by David Jade.
http://store.dananddave.com/cartier.html

So, if you didn't like Espion's explanation (highly unlikely  ) you can buy it there.
I'd buy it, but now that Espion's explained it, and doesn't appeal to me that much.
