http://www.ellusionist.com/ultragaff-tricks-and-effects-training-dvd.html

Thats the site to the Ellusionist site with the Ultragaff....if you buy all three DVD's, you get a free Ultragaff deck...

Is it worth it??

Thanks!!!!!!

The problem is, people know it's trick cards, especially for the visual ones. Heck, you can't even give them away as a souvenir, especially when they ask for it (it happens) and that only reinforces the "special-ness" of the cards.

I'm of the opinion that if I'm going to be using visual gaffs, they should be something I can give away by being cheap or something I can easily make on my own.

Also, you'll want to buy the 3 DVD set to understand how to use those cards properly too.

the ultra gaff sucks.....if anythin just get the regular gaff decks

i mean half the cards in the ultragaff are just so stupid its unbelievable

i mean what the fuck is up with the batteries on the back of a playin card

i seriously dont know what the guys were thinkin when they designed this deck but i personally wouldnt use...some of the cards just look tacky and fake

people are not amazed by what teh card looks like, they are amazed by the fact u managed to switch the card for a different one

and on that note ur better off just usein regular cards rather than stupid gaff ones

plus when u order the deck u dont get anythin to give u ideas for routines to actually use the cards for, u literalyl just get the deck. u would either have to come up with ur own routines or buy teh seperate dvd to show u some ideas of what tricks to use them for

Imma have to agree with Traum, if you're getting a gaff deck, I'd say get the original gaff deck.
If the original red gaff deck came out after the ultra-gaff than everyone would be all like, "That's amazing, the best!".
I personally didn't like many of the ultra-gaff cards. But, don't get me wrong, there are some pretty good ones, but the whole, scratchcard, sexy, battery sort of things would probably be used as more of a joke than actual magic.

I personally prefer the gaff cards, like the moving pips, fade effect type thing, the smudge thing in ultra-gaff, and where they print two faces on one card (in the ultra-gaff). Not so much, the skulls on the cards and stuff. Why does everything turn so sinister nowadays? I guess one reason why I'd get ultra-gaff over the original is because there aren't so many evil-ish cards (with monsters and crap).

It's really up to you, many say that the reactions are good, you've seen the performances it's up to you. No, don't get it if you don't do card magic, but get it if you seem to like it (which you it looks like you do) ;)
I recommend you look through each card from each deck, and see which one has the most card you like. After finishing this post, I'm kinda confused on which one I would go for if I had to buy one :s.

My opinion don't get it!

It doesn't sucks, but it is not Great! It is not as good as some says it is, and not as bad as many say it is. It is just ok if considering if it's value for money. There are effects there that you might use, but remember in the long term you always need the ultragaff deck which ain't cheap.

Save the money, use it to buy a good magic book, or other DVDs that have more variety of materials on it, effects that can be done with normal deck, and that are more worth it.

Probably a rating of 3 out of 5 i say.

I vote don't get it. Like Tim said, there are some cool effects like the rub-off card, but I don't think it's worth 30 bucks. If I saw one on ebay I'd spring for it, but it just isn't worth the cost for me.

On a side note - if you want just one card that is gaffed on the back (zipper card, sexy card, rub away back, etc) you can get bicycle to print you a deck of them here (http://www.bicyclepersonalizedcards.com/). Then you get 52 of them that you can give away as souvenirs.

USPCC is stopping all special printing jobs that involve changing the back (except color) as it puts them in danger of losing their trademark on the rider back. Of course, replacing it with a totally different back is alright. But a modification on the rider back is not possible anymore, sadly.

i say don't buy it. go with the regular gaff deck instead. The ultragaff is composed of cards that are too special and the rest you will never use unless you buy the companion dvd. The regular gaff deck provides you with different cards that in my opinion are much better and much more elegant for your magic.

Dude, definitely buy the ultra gaff.

I have the deck and i didn't buy the DVDs.

You can easily figure the tricks out from the youtube videos.

The cards the deck come with can be used in a variety of ways.

You can make your own tricks too...

In my opinion 9/10 i like mine alot.

My favorite trick is Dead Cell. People are just like wtf man, your crazy.

Wow, I love how mixed the opinions are on this deck.

For the most part I will have to agree with Traum and Tim. A lot of cards in gaff decks are way too specialized or just plain ridiculous. And to Tim: I think one of the biggest factors that contributes to the "dark" imagery that is associated with alot of magic in general these days is Criss Angel. Criss Angel has brought alot of people in to magic, a quick look on youtube will tell you that.

I actually am a really big fan of gaff cards, except for the over the top ones. The only style of completely custom cards I like are the ones like the guy in the coffin with the Ghost gaff. You know, the kind that can be your 'special' cards, your one of a kind 'collectors' cards.

I have really been able to DESTROY layfolk with some of those ridiculously gaffed cards. I definitely dont like using them though, it is just too over the top. I would much rather just keep a few of the cards on hand to throw in sometime. If you just throw one gaffed trick the whole night (if you are just hanging out) then it stays more convincing........I Think

I hate those cards.
I mean, I guess maybe they would be alright to just keep in my wallet and show off, but for magic, hell no.
I just prefer the gaffs that look like they've been through some sort of photoshop filter, like if they're fuzzy or smudged. Or maybe if they look like they've been misprinted (moving pips and stuff).

Yeah......those look a little less stupid...cause I mean, what....a card with a battery in it??......what, did Ellusionist run out of things to put on Gaff Cards??

Dan - "Hey Wayne....I think we should put a battery on this card"

Wayne - "Great idea!!"

I disagree i think the effect Dead Cell is the best on the dvds but thats just my opinion.

I love Dead Cell...

If you pull 2 batteries out of a fucking card, people go crazy.

Its like a portal to another dimension.

Sometimes i don't even use the gaff cards, i can just have the spectators chosen card "poop" something out.

Like have batteries, money, candy, or anything small, just come out of their card. People go nuts.
