Hi,
I'm going to get stuff from www.abra4magic.com for about 200 dollars, and I don't really know what to get, I would really appreciate it if you'd give me some advice. I wouldn't like any dvd's.
I'm mostly in to card magic but I do some close-up street magic (coins, botles etc)
Best regards
/Nicholas

yeah i recomend that too. i use sponge balls all the time. deffinatly suggest spending $200 on sponge balls :)
seriosuly mate u must lead a very sad life if u got nothin to do than spend $200 on magic
its not what u buy that will make u good at magic, its how u use it
i have read books in my local libray for free and can easily go into a restraunt and entertain everyone for hours usein stuff i would normally pick up on the table. that is magic...that is skill and best of all that is all free apart from a little time spent learning the sleights
my advice go and spend a few bucks on a library card or failing that $20-$30 on a few magic books and learn some real skill then u can go out and spend the rest of the money on new clothes, or anythin else u want to make people of the opposite sex actually like u and want to be with u
sorry i know i'm go off on one it just does my head in when people make threads like this, makes it sound like ur just showin off on how much money on magic.....
maybe what u should do is find somethin u actually like the look of and ask us if we have any feedback for the particular item u have ur eye on
i would love to have a little competition....a magic off if u will.
my freely leartn sleight of hand skill compared to someone that has spent hundreds on gimmicks and props and see wihc one of us would win....leave it up to the LMT community to vote on who is better....i would certainly know who i'd put my money on lol

lol yeah its true tho, u CAN easily spend hundreds if not thousands on gettin the best books, dvds, gimmicks and props but none of it is goin to make u a good magician. wich is why i would be willin to put up a challenge like that.
and i dont mean for all u flourishers to come out and start posting a 5 min video of a single card flourish doin it as fast as u can...yes that takes skill and practice but thats not magic lol
my skill in magic that was learnt for free in my library VS. anyone else who has paid endless amounts of money learning from books and dvds from various websites
game on!!!

well that does suck but my library only had a handfull of beginer magic books for kids, but the things i learnt in the books were basic sleight of hand...palms, various lifts and very basic tricks. but after learning those fundamental skills its just a case of findin more and workin on it

Thanks for the tips. I'm sorry I forgot to write that I got to spend this 200 dollars for free, because they purchased the rights to an effect. I agree, I wouldn't buy if I didn't get it for free.

Sean, I accept the challenge!!!

ok espen but its a competition based on skill vs gimmicks...not magic vs. flourishes.....everyone knows ur pretty good at flourishes, but how are u at actually performing magic
remember its my skill learnt for free in a library vs. tricks learnt by payin a lot of money for lol

I dont know who said it but less is more you should just spend little money on some classic books and get the sleights that you need instead of spending 100s of dollars on tricks that are basically the same as the classic tricks.
