if i remember the gimmick correctly this is how it works:

take an indifferent card and punch a hole in one corner.
(now this is hard to explain in person so it'll be harder to explain in typing but i'll try)
when you punch a hold and it doesn't punch all the way, you can sometimes fold the piece and it looks like it punched all the way through but in reality you can fold it back to cover the hole. you want to punch three more around the first hold making a square in the corner.
you then want to punch 3 similar holes in the other corners (1 per corner)
now you have a card that you can open and close three holes on.

keep this card second from the top of the deck with the 4 hole formation towards you.

have the spec select a card (no force needed)
while the spec sings the card get a break under the top card and do a marlo tilt leaving the selected card third.
do a double under-cut leaving the top card on the bottom.

the setup now is specs card and gimmicked card second.
do a double lift and wristkill the deck.
take the hole punch and while making the spec believe you're punching the card in the corners, you want to secretly punch the spec card in one corner in the square formation.
you then want to take the gimmick card showing the spec the back of it and place the deck down with their card face down

you now have the gimmick with the four outer corner holes exposed. just use your index finger and thumb to rub the hole and secretly close the flap that you left on it. pretend to "drag the hol to the corner where you have the 4hole formation and secretly open the corresponding punched out hole.

do this for the remaining 2 corners.

pick the deck up and wristkill with the card on top...do a second double lift and hand the spectator their card with the 4 holes in one corner.

just palm off the indifferent card and pass the deck out for inspection.

you can reuse the card until the flaps become too weak.
