Okay. I bought an M5 and I absolutely love the haunted pack with the M5. But how the hell do you shim a card? I have no clue and Justin Miller doesn't explain it on the dvds.

you can buy some or you can just get a thin piece of metal or tin, and glue it between two cards

that is not how u make a shimmed card
a playin card is made of 3 layers...a thick center piece and 2 thin face layers
u need to strip off the two thin outer layers so u have the 3 pieces seperated
now take a piece of magnetic metal....some soda cans are ideal for this or u can just go to a metal work shop and buy thin sheets of metal
u can now either replace the whole centre piece of the card with the metal, but this will require u to cut the metal precisely, includin the curved corners
the best way to do it is cut a square piece of the shim metal smaller than the size of a playin card....cut the same shape out of the centre of the central piece and then glue everythin back together with the shim metal inside the cut out
i think its more complicated to explain than it is to do, but effectivly all ur doin is splittin a card and inserting a piece of metal inside....u cut away the section from the central piece to prevent the metal showin up as a bump under the surface of the card

I have not tried this, but I read that the security tags...that are a pain to remove from DVDs and electronic stuff have thin magnetic metal in them.

yes they do....the way they work is by magnetism so the thin piece of metal will be magnetic...they are just a bit of a pain to get open and i dont know how strong the magnetic attraction will be

Thanks guys. I just tried it. It is a real pain to seperate them all into three layers. I'll keep workin at it though.
