From the video's I've seen of people working with the M5 it looks like they have controll over the magnet, like they can almost turn the thing on and off on demand. I know that's not how it works, but If the magnet is that strong how do you work with objects without having it tweak out to early? Anything on how the M5 works, or how to work with it would really help me. I know where to buy just the M5 magnet, should I just get that and make my own strap?

....Oh yeah, I'm in a wheelchair.....is this a really bad idea to have on me? lol

Thanks to all

Well, you don't really need to buy the wrist strap. All it is a sort of strap with a pocket that the M5 fits into. You could just use a bandage to hold it in place.

If you're in a wheelchair, not good. You probably should not use it, unless you're okay with your arm stuck on the chair. So... probably no good. Stick with invisible thread. M5 is way too overpriced.

What type of magnet is the M5, so you could make a homemade one?

ps Raven too?

Well I'm still a "noob" as everyone here seems to call you, but I've been trying to do a little homework before buying these gimmicks.

I know for a fact that the M5 is a 2" x 2" x 1/2" neodymium magnet. I found these guys selling it for only $30 bucks.

Although just a magnet store, even they seem to know what the M5 is because it's even mentioned in the description.

From the pictures I've seen of the actual "M5 System" package, the magnets look identical.

So how hard could it be to rig up a pouch/pocket to stick this sucker in and connect a strap?

As for The Raven.... same idea, different magnet. This should help.

If anyone wants to chime in here and throw out any advice or pointers please feel free. Because after all I'm still just a noob. lol :)

I am just going to buy a sweat or wristband and have my mom make a pouch for it and connect it to there.
