How to create your own tricks?

I think it is time that I get more onto the creative side of magic and create my own tricks. I have been doing magic almost a year but have devoted my life to it. I no look at a trip to the store as a trip to the store, I now look at it as a way to demonstrate my art. I was thinking why just go over and over on others tricks and not create my own.

I was wondering is there a creative process that works for you, do you go through the same thing in your head when you want to create. Just write it out to the best of your abilities and help us help you by helping us contributing new material to the magic community.

Help some of the new magicians create their own effects by writing out a process that seems to work for you!

well that seems tobe the problem thinken new stuff up there no secret method u just gotta try hard like that cd effect in the pool party post that thought for the trick randomly just poped in my head bout a day ago it takes time and practice

first think of an effect that u would like to create this will depend on ur IMGAINATION if u can't think of any then think of a really kool trick that you know it and turn it around make a new method for it then ounce u have that think of ways get out a sheet of paper and brainstrom different ideas just jot down any slieghts gimmicks or any preps for this trick then review it look for key points in the writing se what u need to create this trick then put your ideas in action try them out see if they work if its still not the effect u wanted keep trying it think about it through the day and you will eventually think of the perfect method for your trick test it out again and bam you have just created ur own orginal trick =D i have done this twice and now have 2 awsome tricks to add to my routine =D

It will not always come immediately, I have been working on a card trick for atleast 1.5 months and how to do it just came to me today. I will not reveal anything yet but be looking for it. It is still in perfecting the method and street testing stage.
P.S. Couple of key points I forgot to add,
1. just because you did not make the slight used in the trick doesn't mean that you didn't create a trick.
2. Know your what qualities make up a good trick.( Wayne Houchin actually told me that.)
3.keep an open mind.
4. constantly perfect new slights and tricks and it might give you an idea on how you could model your trick. ( not exactly the same and pretty well modified if the same as yours effect , atleast to a point where it is not the same trick slightly modified.)

Try posting an idea on the site that you don't know how to go. Maybe a few people on the site can figue out how to do it. 50heads are better than 1.

And a few other hand picked people but I don't want it overly exposed because it is actually a fairly original effect not really a variation on the method of an exsiting trick, so I don't want it overly expsoed because as far as my knowledge goes there is no other one like it. But maybe i can recruit a select few to help.

i use diferent methods

- first i think of the effect and them the method
- sometimes it just comes to me
- i use a memo book with 50 sheets with magic information some notes maeby some of my own tips
-i have another note pack with me all the time so when a idea hits me i just ride it down
